The substrate panel has an aluminium edge; this can also be painted in any colour, as appropriate.

Glass worktops hold a special fascination. Clear glass panels create a particular appearance of depth and therefore appear weightless. On the other hand, frosted glass worktops convey a more homely feeling of warmth. The glass edges are bevelled and have a partially transparent polished finish. The slight overhang adds to the elegance of glass worktops.

Glass Worktops Properties:

Glass worktops are produced in a 12 mm thick, single-pane safety glass. It is printed on the reverse side with ceramic colours that are baked-on at a temperature of 650°C.
As a result, glass worktops colours are light-fast, require no particular care and are resistant to rapid changes in temperature.
Compared to non-hardened glass, single-pane safety glass has a higher level of temperature resistance. It also has greater impact resistance and is less susceptible to bending fracture.

Point loads or impacts on the edge of glass worktops s can cause the edge area to splinter or can completely destroy the glass panel. In such an instance the glass disintegrates into small fragments. This reduces the potential for injury.

The fact that glass worktops are made from natural materials means that there may be minor colour differences between base glass panels. As a consequence, it is not possible to guarantee 100% colour conformity.
Depending on the amount of use, the glass worktops surface will inevitably show signs of wear. However, this scratch patina does not impinge on the quality and functionality of the glass. Over time scratches will be more clearly visible on the frosted surface.

During production of the single-pane safety glass, so-called hot points can occur in the surface. They provide no grounds for complaint.
Likewise, as a result of the production process, small glass spots can appear in the frosted surface. Again these are no reason for complaint.

Glass Worktops Care

The key feature of glass worktops is that it results in a smooth, easy to clean and hygienic surface.
Any form of inappropriate treatment, such as using abrasives, scratching the surface or using it for cutting should be avoided.
Clear glass worktops can be cleaned using mild cleaners and a sponge or cloth as well as standard household glass cleaners.
Chemicals or strong, aggressive materials can attack the surface of the glass. Should they come into contact with the surface, remove them immediately using copious amounts of water.
Frosted glass worktops has a slightly rough surface. Compared to clear glass, it is more susceptible to slight staining.
Consequently, frosted glass requires greater care in order to preserve its integrity.

Do not clean frosted glass worktops with cleaners that contain silicon or acids.
Greasy or oily substances will leave marks on satin surfaces. They create a slight shadow effect, but can be removed using glass cleaner.
To remove a hot fat stain form glass worktops , for example, that has been left on the surface for over 16 hours, we recommend using clean & polish by Lechner. This is applied wet with a lot of water and does not affect the appearance or gloss level of the glass worktops surface.
